The Evergreen Community Church campus is located East of downtown Bothell, Washington. Bothell is a suburban city of approximately 35,000 people located 15 miles northeast of Seattle. It straddles the boundary of King and Snohomish Counties. A large segment of our congregation lives in Bothell, but many more travel from surrounding communities including Kenmore, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Redmond, and Woodinville.
As of the 2000 census, there were 11,923 households residing in the city of Bothell. Of the households, approximately 34% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54% were married couples living together, 9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34% were individuals. In 2000, 7% of households had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older, but this number has grown considerably in the past six years. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.05.
The age of Bothell’s population is approximately as follows:
- 18 and under – 25%
- 18 to 24 – 8%
- 25 to 44 – 33%
- 45 to 64 – 24%
- 65 and older – 10%
The median income for a household in the city was $59,264 in 2000, and the median income for a family was $68,580. Five percent of those under the age of 18 and of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
